MEET THE TURENNE'S FAMILY
2nd Generation Family Farm
Located in Glenlea, 10 minutes south of Manitoba, Prairie Berry is the farm on which Jen grew up. To keep it in the family, Jen & Matt with their two kids Nixi & Cruz, jumped on the opportunity to purchased the family’s 24 acre farm. They wanted to keep an element of farming in their lives and decided to start growing strawberries. They knew there was a need for fresh produce in southern Manitoba and what better way to spend time outdoors and make memories with their two children.
ABOUT PRAIRIE BERRY FARM
In 2016, Prairie Berry was officially opened to the public for u-pick and pre-pick and it was a great success. This was also an exciting year for Prairie Berry as we were awarded the nicest farmyard in Manitoba.

Our goal has always been to provide our customers with an enjoyable and unique picking experience. There is nothing more enjoyable than a juicy freshly picked strawberry on a warm summer day! We are always looking at new and innovative ways to grow and run our farm in order to produce the best berries for our clients.

In 2020, after much planning Prairie Berry Farm decided to host Farm to Table Dining Experiences. Guests enjoy a 4-7 course meal served directly in the strawberry patch. The farm to table dining experiences are held during the short 2-3 week picking season in the beginning of July so that guests can see the berries in the field as they eat. Each meal is prepared by renowned local chefs who incorporate an element of strawberry in each dish. They use fresh local ingredients and create decadent menus for our guests to enjoy.

In 2021, we decided to reduce our strawberry patch and operate solely with our Farm to Table dinners. By not opening to the public for u-pick and by reducing our patch, we are able to perform a crop rotation, to enjoy the summers with our family and to continue working on these smaller projects which we are so passionate about.
Prairie Berry is a proud Métis majority-owned and operated business. They are also fully bilingual in French.
The Next Chapter
It’s the end of a beautiful era, and the beginning of an exciting new journey.
With mixed emotions, this year will mark the final season of our Farm-to-Table dinners at The Patch.
Looking back, our hearts are so full. Getting to host you, meeting so many incredible people, and collaborating with Manitoba’s finest culinary talents has been the privilege of a lifetime. We’ve shared decadent meals, endless laughs, and unforgettable evenings together.
While we are saying goodbye to our dinner series, we are thrilled to announce what’s next.
We are switching gears and focusing on reopening as a U-Pick Farm for the 2028 season!
